The Columbia, Maryland Chapter of Club Dejouir, Incorporated was installed in 1981. The chapter is part of the National Organization that was incorporated in 1955 with the purpose of promoting a social atmosphere among women of like ideals; encouraging the virtues of womanhood here and elsewhere in our nation; and participating actively in local and national charitable endeavors.
The Columbia charter members are Delores Burgess, Ossie Clay, Lorraine Dorsey, Hazel Ervin, Helen Fitzpatrick, Ethel Hill, Nancy Kensler, Eloise Lee, Evelyn McClurkin, Maurine McKinley, Hazel Rayford, Pinnie Ross and Ruth Young. Since that time the Columbia Chapter has gained notoriety and continues to attract positive women looking to make a positive impact in their local communities and beyond.
Our club represents the ultimate in sisterhood, service and sophistication. We are proud of the accomplishments of the club and look to continue our efforts today and into tomorrow.
