The Philadelphia Chapter of Club Dejouir, Incorporated was installed in 1963. The chapter is part of the National Organization that was incorporated in 1955 with the purposes of promoting a social atmosphere among women of like ideals; encouraging the virtues of womanhood here and elsewhere in our nation; and participating actively in local and national charitable endeavors.
The Philadelphia charter members are Lucille Adkins, Ernestine Beaver, Marion Brown, Betty Charity, Gloria Chavarria, Charlotte Churn, Josephine Dolby, Else Hart, Marion Martin, Gwendolyn Peyton, Mildred Scott, and Lynette Tillery. Since that time the Philadelphia Chapter has gained notoriety and continues to attract positive women looking to make a positive impact in their local communities and beyond. Our club represents the ultimate in sisterhood, service and sophistication. We are proud of the accomplishments of the club and look to continue our efforts today and into tomorrow.
The Philadelphia Chapter has organized and participated in fundraisers, community service activities with the goal of providing a helping hand to those in need.
If you are interested in working with us as we continue to make a positive impact on the lives of our members and those with needs in our community, contact us at philadelphia@clubdejouir.org.
