The Richmond, Virginia Chapter of Club Dejouir, Incorporated was installed in 1955. The chapter is part of the National Organization that was incorporated in 1955 with the purpose of promoting a social atmosphere among women of like ideals; encouraging the virtues of womanhood here and elsewhere in our nation; and participating actively in local and national charitable endeavors.
The Richmond charter members are Andris Jordan Burrell, Claudia Sweat Clarke, Florence Neal Cooper, Jean Brandon Fergusson, Frances Teele Hayes, Estelle Price Hughes, Leah Jones Jackson, Inez Jordan Johnson, Gertrude Lee, LaVerne Reese, Mildred Spencer, Clarissa Lane Taylor, and Mary Radcliffe Wood. Since that time the Richmond Chapter has gained notoriety and continues to attract positive women looking to make a positive impact in their local communities and beyond.
Our club represents the ultimate in sisterhood, service and sophistication. We are proud of the accomplishments of the club and look to continue our efforts today and into tomorrow.
The Richmond Chapter has organized and participated in fundraisers, community service activities with the goal of providing a helping hand to those in need. Our events and service activities have assisted various local and national organizations
